Ideal for trim work--including installing base board, toe molding, and crown molding--the DLR130K uses a laser beam to perform both pointing and measuring applications. It can measure length, area, and volume measures in four systems: inches, feet and inches, decimal feet, and metric.
The DLR130K's 2-inch to 130-foot range and two reference points--located at the back and front of the tool--give you plenty of options. In addition, it takes measurements in four seconds or less--with accuracy to within 1/16 inch.
For further convenience, four 'AAA' batteries (included) will handle approximately 30,000 individual measurements.

this is for the bosch dlr130 digital distance measurer. This is a fantastic measuring guage. I just used to trim our a room in our home and only used this tool for the measurements. I never used a standard tape. It gave the most accurate results. I put up crown and base and wainscoting with a nice crown at the top with a 5" wide countertop. All of this was measured exclusively with the bosch 130. Every cut came out perfect. What this means also is that paired up with my tape for the moulding cuts, the bosch dlr130 was perfectly matched inch by inch. No difference in lengths at all. In fact, I tested it on a piece of wood that I had in my shop and compared the size with my tape and the bosch, they were exactly the same. Unreal. Anyways, I bought this at HD, but it is cheaper here. I just needed it that day. I build Fine furniture and cabinetry for a living and this tool just found its way into my rotation. I think other customers have said it all. Being an architect makes this product an extremely valuable and time saving tool.
Pros:-
1- Smaller than an ordinary 8 Meters measuring tool.
2- Lighter than an ordinary 3 Meters measuring tool.
3- Very accurate.
4- Very fast results.
5- Very simple and can be easily operated (This is my first one and i didn't have to read the manual)
6- Can be used indoors and outdoors.
7- Switches between different measuring unites.
8- Helps calculating volumes and areas easily.

I am a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor and I purchased the Bosch DLR130 to measure depths to the bottoms of manholes. This procedure is integral to the design of new sewers and roadways. Before purchasing the Bosch, the standard procedure was to use a graduated plastic rod to measure the depth. Now I pull the manhole cover, place a piece of lathe over the opening and aim the red laser at the items I need to measure the depth. Speeds up the process greatly. Tested the product's measured distance against a 100 foot surveyors measuring tape. The Bosch and measuring tape always agreed to within 0.01 feet. This is a great product and highly recommended for quick and accurate measurements. The only gripe I have is that Bosch does not include a wrist strap in the box. I had to go to a camera store and purchase a 5 dollar strap so I would not drop the unit down in the manhole.(read more customer review)

I've had a chance to use this Bosch digital laser measure for at least a year now. It was very accurate and highly convenient to have around. It is useful for measuring heights, long distances, or anytime when a typical tape measure just wasn't practical. Only caveat was the difficulty of spotting the laser dot on a bright sunny day. However, you can remedy this by purchasing an amber tinted goggle to help you visualize the mark better. Overall, a great useful product - albeit pricy - but worth every penny imho. If you need a measurement, and you need a lot of them, and you need them just right now, and you need them to be accurate, then you need this product. I am a project manager, and i measure a lot of stuff for installations, moves, etc. this measuring device has made my job immensely easier. It has a low cost, high usability, and is rugged.
